Herbal ingredient manufacturer Mrida Greens has added five more nutrient extracts to its herbal extracts product portfolio, and announced plans to venture into the business-to-consumer space.

The five new products are Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) which supports immune system and cleanses digestion; Vijaysar, used for controlling blood sugar; Shatavari, a tonic for women’s health; Amla, an antioxidant that helps in cholesterol and blood sugar control; and Shankapushpi, for nerves and brain health.

”The additions to our extracts business are the result of painstaking research and development in the category,” said Manoj Khanna, co-founder and chief executive, Mrida Greens and Organics.

Meanwhile, the company also announced plans to enter the B2C space by offering health and wellness-related products.

Khanna said while the company’s primary business model will remain business-to-business (B2B), Mrida Greens will venture into the B2C space by opening its own stores, and doing direct selling via e-commerce platforms.

The company is reportedly talking with e-commerce players such as Amazon and local firm Snapdeal to achieve that goal.

Mrida Greens also offer aloe vera extracts and other herbal ingredients for traditional Indian remedies. Its facility in Umbergaon, Gujarat, process aloe vera dry extract for nutraceutical and ayurveda companies.

The company began with processing aloe vera extracts in 2015. Aloe vera promotes stomach and liver health, encourages digestive benefits, sustains healthy immune function and offers a daily infusion of key nutrients, said Mrida Greens.

“Our core focus at Mrida is to promote collection and cultivation of healthy, organic plants and herbs by rural communities as a sustainable livelihood and income enhancement opportunity,” Khanna explained.

“We ensure that the nutritional value of the product is retained through minimal processing, so as to provide high quality products to our customers, and maximum health benefits to the end user.”
