Australia is now China’s second biggest source of imports, behind the US, with industry trade body Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA) confident of continued supplements sales growth in the country as the population ages and incomes rise.

Australian supplement channels to China have grown exponentially in the past few years, with consumers enticed by the country's 'clean and green' image and its reputation for manufacturing high -quality products.

In our video with CMA CEO Carl Gibson, we discuss how these sales have stayed strong despite regulations uncertainty around cross-border e-commerce laws – the preferred route to market for many Australian companies.

Watch the video, filmed at the USCHPA’s Nutrition and Health Industry Summit in Shanghai, to see Gibson discuss why he maintains optimism for the industry’s growth in China as well as identifing some of the trending supplement sectors in the market.
