His career spans over 25 years and he has specialised in regulation, public policy and campaign communications. He was part of the senior leadership teams that transformed Allscripts-Misys, the US healthcare software company, and UK nuclear generator British Energy.

Dr Siti Noorbaiyah Binti Abdul Malek

Dr Siti Noorbaiyah binti Abdul Malek is an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology. Starting as a lecturer at Institute Teknologi MARA (now UiTM) in Malaysia, she left the academic world after close to 20 years to bring her expertise to the food industry in Malaysia.

As the CEO of UnipeQ Sdn. Bhd., she managed a premier training, consultancy and laboratory service provider in the Malaysian food industry. After five years, she decided to go regional and joined Food Industry Asia (FIA).

As the Head of Regulatory Affairs, her principal role was to provide expert guidance and technical support to the FIA members and its standing committees.

While at FIA, she also served a dual role as the Executive Director of the ASEAN Food and Beverage Alliance (AFBA), where her top priority was to champion the F&B industry's voice in the ASEAN Economic Community initiative, specifically for the harmonisation of food standards.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Food Science from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA.

Dr Iain Brownlee

Dr Iain Brownlee is a Senior Research Scientist with CSIRO in Australia in nutrition and health. His research has been particularly focused on the impact of dietary fibres and whole grains on gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and metabolic health.

Sandeep Gupta has over 22 years of industry experience, during which he has launched more than 200 nutraceutical products and evaluated more than 1,000 ingredients.

He worked extensively on India's Food Safety & Standards Regulation, which came into force last year.

He currently holds multiple roles in the industry, including Chairman of the Standard Review Group (SRG) for nutraceuticals at Indian regulator FSSAI, President and national spokesperson at the National Advocacy Council for Nutraceuticals, Health, Dietary & Protein Supplements (United Nutraceutical Product Alliance), executive committee member and Vice Chairman of the IDMA nutraceutical committee, and founder and CEO of the Nutraworks Foundation.

Presently, his main agenda is to expand the nutraceutical and probiotic market in India, and he has been effectively campaigning for such products to be placed in the lowest possible GST bracket.

Clarence Fong

Clarence Fong, from the China Health Care Association, has been working extensively as an international market consultant, and has successfully facilitated the entry of European and other Western healthcare companies into the Chinese market.

He was raised in Hong Kong, educated in Australia, and has worked and lived in mainland China since 2007, giving him a unique perspective on the exceptional growth of the Chinese nutritional supplement market.

He speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin, making him valuable in facilitating cross-cultural business exchanges.

The NutraIngredients-Asia Awards will follow the NutraIngredients Awards in May and the NutraIngredients-USA Awards in July, which means entrants have the chance to be crowned winners across APAC, Europe and the Americas.
