NutraIngredients’ teams worldwide are to host the first ever co-ordinated series of webinars looking at immunity, with a focus on the microbiome, active nutrition, clinical research and botanicals.

The webinars, hosted by the brand’s teams in EMEA, USA and APAC, will address the timely topic of immunity that has seen consumer demand for immunity-supporting products soaring along with a host of unanswered questions.

“In the US we’re seeing surging sales for immune health supplements, which got us thinking about the topic of immunity in general: What this means, the science to support these claimed benefits, and how to responsibly and accurately communicate these effects,” says Stephen Daniells, editor-in-chief of NutraIngredients-USA.

“This webinar series will slice up the topic into manageable chunks, from probiotics and botanicals, to how immunity fits into the active nutrition discussion, and even how to build the science with appropriate clinical studies.”

Immunity a ‘hot topic’

The series of four 90-minute webinars will be a region-specific event taking place in EMEA, Americas and APAC that takes a look at aspects of immunity and its relevance to the Microbiome, Active Nutrition, Clinical Research and Botanicals.

Each webinar will look to bring together leading experts to assess existing scientific evidence, along with the scope for new product development.

Other points of discussion include the opportunity for gold-standard clinical research and the expected marketing and regulatory challenges across the globe.

“Immunity has been the hottest topic for supplement firms and suppliers in APAC this year, with heightened interest from consumers leading to sales of finished products soaring,” adds Gary Scattergood, editor-in-chief of NutraIngredients-Asia.

“Our immunity series of webinars will assess the opportunities for future studies and NPD across Asia Pacific spanning the microbiome, botanicals, active nutrition and clinical research, in order to meet this demand in an effective and responsible manner.”

Dates and times

Dates for the webinars are confirmed with the first session ‘Immunity and Clinical Research,’ to broadcast on 26 May in the APAC region. The full list of sessions is shown below:

“The Immunity webinar series looks to discuss the science and its significance in much more depth as consumers look to separate fact from fiction,” says Will Chu, science and tech editor for NutraIngredients Europe.

“The science has always been the springboard for product innovation, new directions and eventually, commercial success and these webinars will look to co-ordinate resources to provide the sector with region-specific insight from leading industry figures.”
