G-NiiB formulates new synbiotics to tackle Asia’s growing MAFLD

G-NiiB has launched a synbiotic clinically shown to reduce fatty liver and liver stiffness, against the backdrop of growing Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) prevalence across Asia.

This is the brand’s first product designed for liver health and has been clinically studied in 27 patients suffering from MAFLD (Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Fatty Liver Disease) in a three-month study.

Some of the benefits that the product claims on its packaging include 1) significantly repair liver scars, 2) enhances anti-inflammatory factors, 3) improves liver detoxification, 4) improves fat metabolism, and 5) antioxidant protection.

Otsuka Pharma grows electrolyte drink business across Asia

Otsuka Pharmaceutical is trying to grow its POCARI SWEAT electrolyte drink business through market expansion, including recent entry into India and across the Philippines.

The electrolyte drink brand was said to have recorded strong performance in both the domestic market and in the Philippines, the company said in its financial results for the first half of 2025.

Growth in the Philippines was said to be driven by new customer acquisition through geographical expansion. POCARI SWEAT also entered the India market last month.

Japanese firm launches eye supplement with habit support app for ‘supplement refugees’

Japanese firm YURU Co Ltd has introduced a new eye supplement containing liposomal lutein and coupled it with a proprietary habit support app catering to “supplement refugees”.

Named LUTE VITA, the supplement is aimed at addressing the damage caused by daily exposure to blue light and ultraviolet rays.

Additionally, the company has created an app called nometa to help consumers manage their supplement habits, with features serving to maintain consumption motivation.

Men are increasingly seek personalized nutritional solutions integrating technology and natural products, according to Nano Singapore.

The company has for instance, developed an AI Health Hub portal to help users to manage their diet and wellness plans.

“We believe personalized wellness is a huge segment in the future trend of men’s health. In line with this, we have developed our AI Health Hub portal, which will allow users to manage their diet and wellness plans,” Teo Xuan Hao, Marketing Manager at Nano Singapore, told NutraIngredients.

Cell Biotech to enter Thailand and Philippines on the back of strong export growth

South Korean firm Cell Biotech has plans to enter Thailand and The Philippines within the second half of 2025, on the back of continued performance as one of the top K-probiotic exporters.

The company is in the midst of preparing to launch its flagship brand, DUOLAC, in Thailand, targeting the premium probiotics segment.

The launch will start with a probiotic specifically designed for vaginal health, before expanding the line-up further down the road.
