Growing understanding of sarcopenia among the region's medical community is now filtering down to consumers, who will be increasingly looking for preventive supplement solutions.

That's the view of John Burstow, sales director at TSI, who spoke at our recent Healthy Ageing APAC Summit Singapore.

We caught up with him on camera to assess how knowledge of sarcopenia among medical practitioners and consumers is on the rise.

He discusses why it is so important that sarcopenia was recognised as a disease by the World Health Organisation (WHO) two years ago, and that diagnostic guidelines were then developed.

These developments mirror that of osteoporosis, and are signs that there is a potential market for products that promote muscle health, he said.

Watch the video, where Burstow also details some of the latest clinical findings around his firm's HMB ingredient.
