The awards ceremony was held the night before Vitafoods Asia 2018, where Gencor was an exhibitor, along with its sister company Pharmako Biotechnologies — which was the winner of the Botanical Product of the Year award and Start-Up of the Year award.

Speaking to us at Vitafoods Asia was Managing Director RV Venkatesh, who elaborated on the botanical history behind ActivAMP and the key findings of the multiple clinical trials that had been conducted on the ingredient so far.

ActivAMP's main benefits, he said, were its ability to help the consumer maintain a healthy metabolism rate and support joint and muscle strength. These qualities are useful to not just older people, but any adult whose busy lifestyle may make maintaining a nutritious diet and regular exercise routine difficult.

He also discussed the innovation behind Pharmako's technology, and detailed how the firms approached new product development grounded in clinical trials.
